President's Update
COVERING MARCH 2025
A Message from Superintendent/
President Shannon
Happy Spring!
The season of longer days, sunnier skies and new beginnings is upon us and, at Chaffey College, we are embracing this moment of change and renewal.
A seemingly perfect way to welcome the new season was hosting the grand reopening of the 51ÂÜÀò Aquatic Center on March 20. As our latest Measure P renovation project to be completed, it was a joy to welcome city officials, community leaders and supporters for a ribboncutting ceremony and to witness our Chaffey swim team take a ceremonial first lap of the new state-of-the-art pool. I am so grateful to our Measure P supporters for investing in our students – you made this possible! See photos here.
March also marked Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and I was so proud to see a large turnout of students and community supporters at our Disability Awareness Fairs. Thank you to our DPS staff for continuing to foster an inclusive and equitable environment for our students to thrive.
Looking ahead, we are continuing to create more opportunities than ever for student success at 51ÂÜÀò.
I would like to extend an open invitation for future Panthers to attend our upcoming Open House events on Saturday, April 12 in Rancho Cucamonga, Thursday, April 24 in Chino and Monday, April 28 in Fontana. These events provide prospective students and their families an opportunity to visit our campuses, meet with Chaffey admissions staff, learn about Chaffey programs and student resources, and gain a sense of college life. I hope to see you there! You can RSVP HERE.
For those looking to register for classes this summer or fall, our registration period begins April 29! New students can apply here. Have a wonderful spring!
Sincerely,
Henry D. Shannon, Ph.D.
